Huayna Picchu
The name which is referred literally names a dual (old – young) counterpart of the Quechua words Machu – Huayna, widely used in similar geographical formations along the Andean territory, on the other hand the term Picchu mentioned by Federico Kauffmann does not exist in the Quechua terminology and therefore the most possible is that it is derived from a Spanish term that is probably “peak”.
