Hidroeléctrica
At present, the “Hidroeléctrica” area in Cusco is a medium point of connection to the town of Aguas Calientes and consequently to Machupicchu, it is possible to arrive at the place by the road that comes from the town of Santa Teresa and from here, continue to Machupicchu town aboard a train or by the unofficial pedestrian path, following the same path to which many people venture. The name of the place was actually given because in the area operates the Hydroelectric Power Plant of Machupicchu, which started its construction in 1953, feeding electricity until today, to 36% of the southern part of the country, is also impressive to mention that all its operations are performed in a cave dug into the living rock of the mountain. We should also mention that in this area officially ends the railway line that starts in the city of Cusco. Consider finally that it is at a height of 2000 m, presenting a warm and humid climate of the jungle.
