DAY 01: CUSCO CITY TOUR:

Your arrival must be confirmed and we will be ready to start our services to you pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Upon arrival the best option you will have will be a light break to be prepared for the day.

The pick up for this tour will begin at 13:30 hours (variable depending on the type of service), departing on a trip to the northeast of the city in a route of approximately 11 kilometers, which will last 30 minutes by the road: Cusco – Calca until reaching our initial starting point, the archaeological site of Tambomachay (3700 m.a.s.l), which form part of the National Archaeological Park of Saqsaywaman. Later other important sites such as Puka Pukara (3580 m.a.s.l), Q’enqo (3580 m.a.s.l) will be the following stops at the height of kilometers 10 and 11 of the road in question. The visit to the heart itself (Saqsaywaman) – Main area – of the archaeological park in our tour, will be the next stop point in which the majesty of the place will detract importance to the time.

The sacred temple of Qoricancha will end with the Inca part of the historical content of the route and the colonial history of our Cusco that will continue with all fanfare in the imposing Cathedral of Cusco, point that will end our tour.

DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS:

The tour will start with the pick up from your respective hotel and then we’ll leave the city of Cusco, along the Cusco – Calca road. The tour will last between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm.

From Qorao town we will begin a descent that will take us to the town of P’isaq (2950 masl) first stop on our itinerary where we will visit one of the largest crafts markets in Peru, famous for its origins and rich traditions, or, in the same area, we will visit the archaeological site of the same name.

We will continue with our tour in the company of the Vilcanota, sacred river of the Incas, to arrive to the town of Urubamba (2870 masl) where the best of the Peruvian and Cusco cuisine will be a delight for our day’s lunch.

Later in Ollantaytambo (2792 masl), aqueducts, terraces, temples, streets and legends framed in one of the geographical points that harber villages of pure Inca descent, which will be the protagonists of this point of visit that the sacred valley offers us. Already at the end of the afternoon we will go to the train station of the town to take the service that will take us to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night. When arriving at the plateau of Chinchero (3762 masl), the friendliness of this town will tell us about its aliving history and we will see embodied in its looms, the beauty of its rustic landscape that hybridizes two cultures, from its beautiful colonial temple until their terraces that hold it.

At the end of the visit to this last point, we will return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 3: FIRST DAY OF SALKANTAY TREKKING

At 6:00 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to head to the village of Mollepata (2700 masl) on a route that will take about 2 and a half hours, in this place we will take the time to appreciate this village and continue our trip, this time to the area of Sayllapata, in this place we will start the trek after which we will arrive to Soraypampa (3900 masl) to the slopes of the Umantay snow mountain, in an average of 2 to 3 hours. Then we will restore our energies with the lunch and a short break to arrive to the first camping area in the site of Salkantaypampa (4100 masl).

DAY 4: SECOND DAY OF SALKANTAY TREKKING

At approximately 8:00 am, we will continue the route, after a healthy breakfast we will go to the highest point of the route, the pass of Salkantay (4600 masl), which is about 4 hours from our camp, we will stop to appreciate the beauty of the landscape and we will make an offering to the health of our journey before continuing. The lunch of this day is scheduled at the next stop point called Wayraqmach’ay which is a transition point or rupture from puna to clowforest. We will continue the route of this day until arriving at the camping area, which will be located at the site called Qollqapampa near the area of Chaullay.

DAY 5: THIRD DAY OF SALKANTAY TREKKING

En route once again from 7 in the morning we will head this time, on a 5 hour way, to the area known as beach or Zawayaco, we will pass on the route through the sites called Wiñaypoqo and Llusk’amayu between narrow paths adorned by the characteristic vegetation of the jungle, among which the orchids are the most outstanding – at approximately 4:00 pm we will arrive at the camping area corresponding to this day, the place known as Ahobamba, famous for the quality of its coffee.

There is the possibility on this day of being able to go from the beach area in the direction of the nearby Santa Teresa district, to be able to settle in this place and enjoy its crystalline hot springs.

DAY 6: FOURTH DAY OF SALKANTAY TREKKING

Between 7:00 am and 8:00 am, we will go to the archaeological site of Llaqtapata, we will arrive at approximately 12:00 pm, we will continue to Hidroelectrica where we will have lunch and from this same point we will take the train service to the town of Aguas Calientes in above half an hour, and in this town we will settle in the designated hotel to be able to take a deserved rest.

DAY 7: SALKANTAY – MACHUPICCHU

In order to have the chance to be among the first groups that will visit the archaeological center of Machupicchu and avoid the large masses of visitors that later appear we will start the day at 6:00 am, half hour later we will take the buses that will take us to our destination of the day (Machupicchu), on the Hiram Bingham road in about 40 minutes. There will be a guided tour of two hours in the complex, to offer you some free time after that.

We will have agreed a schedule to descend, lunch and take the train back to the village of Ollantaytambo and finally be transferred to the city of Cusco.

DAY 8: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT:

According to the schedule that you give us in reference to your flight, we will pick you up from your hotel to be able to transfer you to the airport in the city.

OPTIONAL:

In addition to the entrances to the archaeological complex of Machupicchu, you can make a previous reservation (3 months before) to make the following additional visits:

  • Huaynapicchu.
  • Machupicchu Mountain.

Userful Information

USEFUL INFORMATION:

  • For this activity is preferable a whole day of previous rest, also take care of your diet, preferably it should be light.
  • The city of Cusco presents climatic changes, always carry a light warm garment and another impermeable.
  • It is also necessary to take into account that because of the height, the level of ultraviolet (UV) radiation reaches levels of 16, so the use of sunscreen is very important.
  • Remember to always carry your passport with you, require your visit stamp.
  • Remember to check your train schedules to avoid inconvenience and dosage your time properly.
  • If time allows, you should visit the hot springs of the town, and take a tour of the town, remember that this is pedestrian in its entirety.
