Aguas Calientes
Aguas Calientes or Machupicchu village is the tourist resort located in the district of Machupicchu, Urubamba province of the department of Cusco in Peru. This serves as a connecting point on the route to the Inca city of Machupicchu. This town, of growth given on the last 60 years, receives its name from the thermal waters located in the upper part of the same, although the zone originally was known like “maquinachayoq”. As a destination of eminent tourist activity it is possible to find in it all variety of services, among restaurants of all varieties, hotels, exchange centers etc. The official accesses are currently three, one through the railway extended between this place and the town of Ollantaytambo, the famous Inca Trail whose route leaves the town of Pisqakucho at the height of km 82 of the railway line and finally is possible To get here through the access that exists from the area known as “hydroelectric”, although this last route is officially a train track there are many people who venture to make this stretch by an unofficial pedestrian route along a route of Little more than two hours at lightly step.
